Language Training Programming

Our certified and experienced language-training faculty have native fluency English and extensive experience helping international students reach their language learning goals.  Whether preparing students for academic success through our English for Academic Purposes program or improving their workplace communication skills, our intensive English programming assures success.

IWD also offers customized student-centered programming in English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) such as:

Our EOP Framework allows us to meet the language needs of all professions by focusing on the  vocabulary and common professional communication mediums. Programming and evaluations are aligned with the development of language proficiencies in speaking, listening, reading and writing.  Students further develop their professional competencies with academic coursework in their industry.

Capacity Building Programming

Faculty Training

The goal of this training program is to provide the participants a learning experience on a variety of topics to enhance their technical teaching, learning strategies and research competencies.  With a focus on specific strategies for increasing faculty competencies in teaching technical training programs. Georgian delivers this training for the Mexican secretary of education to technical and polytechnic institutes throughout Mexico, and at colleges in China.

Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT)

Our VELT leadership program builds institutional competencies by strengthening the administrative and leadership competencies in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).  Taught by Canadian industry leaders in college governance, structures, and leadership, participants gain insights into the administrative aspects of vocational training.  Some of the key themes presented are building employment ready skills and employer skills, increasing industry partnerships, applied research structures, and administration of co-op programming and work-integrated learning opportunities.
