What to expect on your visit

Our appointment lengths may be slightly longer than those scheduled in other spa settings to allow the students the opportunity to develop their skills. Therefore we ask that you make the commitment of time and patience.

New clients: Please allow 10 to 15 minutes before your appointment to complete required forms

During COVID-19, we have additional protocols in place. For more information, visit our Health and Wellness Clinic FAQs.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I tip the students?

As this is a learning environment, we do not accept tips. To show your appreciation, the greatest compliment you can give a student is to return to the clinic, refer others or provide written feedback.

Can the Spa and Esthetics Clinic accommodate groups?

Yes, the clinic is large and welcomes group bookings and multiple appointments.

Are there any items I should bring to my appointment?

We ask that if you are having a pedicure that you bring open-toed shoes and a pen for completing any forms.

How long should hair be for waxing?

We recommend a quarter inch in length.

Can I purchase a gift certificate?

Yes. The clinic sells gift certificates. Spa gift certificates can be purchased for any denomination and can be redeemed toward any of our spa services.

Do gift certificates have an expiry date?

No. Your gift certificate will not expire because they are of a monetary value and are not purchased as a specific service. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash.

What is a promotional voucher?

As an integral member of the Georgian College organization, the Health and Wellness and Sciences area supports the college’s activities related to fundraising, promotion and marketing.

Promotional vouchers are donations from specific clinics (oral health, massage therapy and esthetics). These vouchers are intended to encourage the use of our clinic services by the community. The vouchers have no monetary value and do have expiry dates.

Does the Spa and Esthetics Clinic have a retail boutique?

Yes, the clinic has professional retail products for sale at the reception counter.

Are children and other guests permitted in the Spa and Esthetics Clinic?

At this time, due to COVID-19, clients may only be accompanied by another individual if this person is their legal guardian or caregiver. Prior notice must be given to the clinic staff.

Do your pedicure chairs have the whirlpool jets and if so, how are they sanitized?

The majority of our pedicure stations do have the whirlpool jets, however, they are pipeless, which means there is no stagnant water sitting in the lines from client to client. Our units create the whirlpool action through two fans which move the water about.

To sanitize our basins after each client, basins are drained and rinsed, then scrubbed down with a scrub brush and anti-bacterial soap. They are rinsed a second time, then sprayed with a disinfectant and left to sit for 10 minutes. This destroys all forms of microbes and TB. They are then rinsed again thoroughly in preparation for the next client.

What additional precautions have you implemented to keep clients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic?

  • Screening for COVID-19 symptoms for all individuals entering the building
  • Mandatory masks in all areas
  • Increased cleaning frequency in all areas including high-touch surfaces
  • Increased space (minimum of two metres) between clients in manicure and pedicure areas. We have removed some stations from use and have relocated others.
  • Directional people traffic control in corridors
  • Limitations on number of people in washrooms and other spaces
  • Reduced seating in foyer
  • New client consult area with sneeze screen
  • Linens in protected area
  • Updated policies, procedures and protocols that meet Public Health Ontario guidelines for Personal Service Settings
