Students make valuable contacts at speed networking event

Marketing and advertising specialists from local and national businesses participated in Georgian College’s recent Speed Networking night for students in the Business – Marketing and Advertising and Marketing Communications programs.

“This was a very informative and enlightening evening,” said Wesley Truax, a second-year student in the Advertising and Marketing Communications program. “Being able to meet and discuss ideas, backgrounds and possibilities with this astounding collection of people was a great opportunity.”

About 60 students took advantage of the opportunity to begin building their professional networks with leaders and key influencers in their chosen field. For many, the evening opened a new world of career opportunities they may not even have been aware of.

The participating companies included several co-op employers of Georgian College students, and many have Georgian grads working in permanent positions.
