Remembering Paul Sadlon (Hon. Diploma 2018)

Georgian College is saddened to learn of the passing of Paul Sadlon Sr., a business owner, philanthropist and friend of the college whose generosity and belief in education have had a lasting impact on students and the broader region.

A consistent champion of students, Mr. Sadlon supported learning and opportunity through employment at his automotive dealership, Paul Sadlon Motors, which began in 1965 and generous philanthropic support. Believing in the power of Georgian, its students and alumni and the positive impact they can make in the community, the Sadlon family made a $2-million donation in 2011. In recognition of the transformational donation, Georgian’s health and wellness facility on the Barrie Campus was renamed the Sadlon Centre for Health, Wellness and Sciences

In recognition of his success as an entrepreneur and business leader and his impact as a community philanthropist, Mr. Sadlon was awarded Georgian’s Board of Governors’ Honorary Diploma in 2018.

Deeply supportive of his community, family, and loyal clientele, Mr. Sadlon’s legacy of generosity and commitment to community will continue to be felt across the region for years to come.

Our thoughts are with his family and those who knew him. The Georgian flags at the Barrie Campus have been lowered in his honour.
