Renovated Student Hair Studio opens with a bang

Students in Georgian College’s Hairstyling diploma and Hairstyling apprenticeship programs celebrated the re-opening of the state-of-the-art Student Hair Studio with an Open House on Friday, Nov. 6. The salon functions as both a classroom and hands-on lab for training Hairstyling students.

“By having the hair studio on-site, our Hairstyling students will have the opportunity to experience the full Georgian College experience,” says Paul Koidis, Associate Dean, Design and Visual Arts. “It also means our returning customers, which include a large number of college staff and members of the public, will have access to the same great value and talented apprentices in a relaxing and professional environment.”

The renovated hair student features all of the amenities of a modern salon, including infrared roller ball processors [which expedite processing time for colouring and perms], a custom colour cabinet, and on-site washer and dryer.

Students, staff and the public will be able to take advantage of the talents of Georgian’s Hairstyling students at affordable prices – a wash-and-style is just $8 and haircuts are $14. Additional services include colouring, highlights and perms.

Appointments are available Tuesdays from 3 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 24 and Dec. 8 and 15.
