Practical Nursing, Pre-Health Sciences coming to Penetanguishene
Jan. 23, 2015
Personal support workers in Penetanguishene, and others who would like to expand their career to become practical nurses, will have an opportunity to do so on a part-time basis, beginning September 2015.
Georgian College is planning to offer the part-time Practical Nursing program in partnership with the County of Simcoe at Georgian Village. The program will be open to the public as well as staff at the seniors’ lifestyle community. The program would take about three and a half to four years to complete, with most classes taking place in the evening.
For applicants who do not meetentrance requirements, plans are also underway to offer the Pre-Health Sciences upgrading program at Georgian Village this summer, including courses in mathematics, chemistry and biology. Classes would run three evenings a week.
Availability of both programs will depend on sufficient enrolment.
Full details will be available at an information fair planned for March 11 at the Georgian Village auditorium, between 3 and 7 p.m. Please plan to attend.
