Students learn contemporary methods of transforming data into meaningful patterns that show how Canadians live, work and play. They discover how to create information-rich stories that help business leaders understand the future needs of customers, seize new market opportunities, and anticipate and solve business and social challenges.

Big Data Analytics combines six courses in technology integration and data manipulation with six courses in advanced business and visualization skills.

“This strong combination will provide students with the right mix of technical and business skills to advance their career in analytics,” said Kevin Weaver, Dean of Technology and Visual Arts.

The program will appeal to those working in a variety of fields related to health, technology, business and engineering. This one-year graduate certificate program will equip graduates with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in business, government, and the non-profit sector. Classes start in September 2016 at the Barrie Campus.

The program will be taught by industry-expert faculty across computer studies, research analyst and business programs, giving students the opportunity to explore a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and applied skills.
