Connect2Careers Fair

The Connect2Careers event, held Feb. 7, was organized by students for students. It was an opportunity for them to hand out resumés and talk to employers from companies across Canada.

Since October, eight passionate and dedicated students volunteered their time to plan the event.

  • Samantha Rockett, a fourth-semester Hotel and Resort student, took the lead as chair person after returning to the organizing committee for the second year; she led the planning process with the help of two Georgian faculty members
  • Sydney Green, first-year Hotel and Resort student, worked on administration
  • Cory Ann Pond and Tyler Bishop, two fourth-year golf degree students, worked on logistics
  • Abdul Mughal and Brooke Mortian focused on marketing and sales
  • Katarina Chabot and Sasha Kharchenko, both Event Management students, found sponsorship while overseeing overall planning

The students’ hard work paid off. In spite of inclement weather, 68 companies and approximately 1,000 students attended the fair.
