Orientation is Jan. 11 at Georgian

Georgian will celebrate the start of the school year for students enrolled in January-start programs at all campuses with Orientation on Monday, Jan. 11. The day will feature lots of fun and informative activities to transition new students to the college.

Crowd of new Georgian students assemble in the gym for Orientation. A hand holds up a welcome sign from the Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation department.“Whether you’re a mature student, directly out of high school, transferring schools, coming from another country, or whatever your situation, this is your chance to connect with Georgian,” says Becca Allan, Orientation and Transition Co-ordinator. “Students will get to know the faces of Georgian, hear from the president, deans and more.”

Orientation at the Barrie Campus will include academic breakout sessions and an indoor fun festival with an informal welcome, academic program area tug-of-war challenge and a free pizza lunch.

Visit the Orientation page for details specific to each campus.

Class for all students will resume or start at noon that day – e.g., classes that run 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will run from noon to 1 p.m.
