Update on residence fire

 

Georgian College is working closely with the Barrie Fire Department as it investigates a fire in the residence building on the Barrie Campus.

The fire began after 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning in an eigth floor unit. No one was in the room at the time and no one was injured. Working smoke alarms alerted people in the building to the situation.

Residence staff have worked to find alternate accommodation for students who may require it. All other floors in the residence have re-opened.
