Unique program helps students with disabilities transition into college life
July 2, 2018
Making the transition from high school to college is difficult for all students, and those with disabilities face additional challenges.
Georgian’s Student Success Services will host a summer transition program for students with disabilities.
Lifestyle Management prepares participants to compete on a level playing field with their peers:
- Earn a college credit and reduce fall semester requirements.
- Ease the transition to postsecondary education.
- Receive guidance when accessing academic accommodations.
- Experience campus life and build a community of peers.
- Receive training in adaptive technology, written expression, academic study skills, and self-advocacy.
The program runs at the Barrie Campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 9, 16, 23 and 30, Aug. 6 (online), 13 and 20.
Course fee is $364.14. Includes textbook, evening activity, and FREE one-night stay in residence on Sunday, July 8 ONLY.
