Georgian students and staff provide much-needed health services to thousands of people in Dominican Republic.

Five faculty members and a large group of students sent greetings to Georgian from Ocoa, Dominican Republic, where they had a successful week offering varied health and wellness clinics to the local community.

This annual trip has grown over the past 10 years to include not only nursing students, but students from various health disciplines and medical professionals from throughout the community, bringing much-needed health care to thousands of people in the poorest regions of the Dominican Republic.

Student participants acquire hands-on experience, provide basic health care and gain a better understanding and appreciation for the culture of the Dominican people.
