Show us your best stache and raise funds for a good cause

You might see a lot more moustaches at the college this month. Movember is an opportunity to raise awareness and start conversations about men’s health.

It’s a cause near and dear to Georgian employee Mick Kingston’s heart. His dad had prostate cancer. His friend Kevin was recently diagnosed and has been battling cancer in hospital. And Mick has lost several friends, including his good buddy Bert, along the way.

“Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends face a health crisis we aren’t talking about,” says Mick. “Men are dying too young and we can help stop that.”

With the support of colleagues and the entire community, Mick has raised almost $34,000 for Movember over the last nine years. He’s also inspired students to get involved, running silent auctions, selling moustaches and organizing various fundraising teams.

Share your moustaches with us on social @georgiancollege. You can also make an online donation or purchase a moustache in support at The First Class Café in Barrie for $1 or $2.
