Photography students at a different exhibit at Georgian’s Barrie Campus
For their final project, Digital Photography and Imaging students are putting on a pop-up portfolio exhibit at Idea City (70 Jefferson Avenue) in Toronto on April 20 from 5 to 9 p.m.
The students created the artwork to be displayed and will be responsible for hanging it in a professional way in the space.
The exhibit allows students share their work and connect with industry professionals. Georgian faculty have invited working photographers, photo assistants, designers, editors, educators and marketing experts to attend.
“We believe that we need to get our students’ work out to professionals,” explains program co-ordinator and photographer Terry Hrynyk. “A show in the city, where the industry lives, is the best thing for our graduating class.”
This is the fifth annual portfolio exhibit for Georgian photography students organized by instructor Sara Parry and assisted by instructor Peter Stranks. It’s an event the students look forward to all year long. The event is also an opportunity for faculty to recognize students’ hard work and achievements – and for everyone to celebrate a successful final term.
