Paramedic faculty win big at national competition

Two faculty members with our Paramedic programs travelled to Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Sept. 19 to participate in a two-day national paramedic competition held at the Paramedic Across Canada Expo.

Julia Young-Williams and Steve Prophet are graduates of Georgian’s Advanced Care Paramedic program and full-time Advanced Care Paramedics with the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services.

Julia, along with her partner Shane Ellis who is also a Paramedic grad, won first place overall. Steve, and his partner Mike Ruddick, placed third.

Julia and Steve have won several competitions both at a national and an international level in the past.
