  2. Groundhog are giant squirrels called marmots.
  3. Groundhogs are also known by the name “whistle-pig.”
  4. Their teeth never stop growing.
  5. They build underground burrows like tiny villages.
  6. They move as much as 2,495 kgs of dirt to make those burrows.
  7. They can climb trees and swim.
  8. When they hibernate, their heart rate slows to five beats a minute.
  9. They can’t actually predict the weather.
