Georgian staff take pie to the face for Orillia youth

During a fundraiser at the Orillia Campus last week, students paid to smush pie in the faces of faculty and staff. Even campus principal Mary O’Farrell-Bowers got in on the fun. Almost $900 was raised for ZombieFest, in support of a much-needed new youth shelter and transitional home in Orillia.

ZombieFest is a student-run initiative supported by the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship in partnership with the Orillia Youth Centre, sponsored by Harvey’s Orillia.

The event, which features a zombie walk and live concert, is Sunday, April 17, 2016. The walk will start in the parking lot across from Brewery Bay on Mississauga Street in Orillia at 10 a.m. and end at the Orillia Campus.

Anyone can raise pledges and register to participate in the event, which will feature dozens of local people dressed as the living dead. If you’re interested in taking part, register here.
