Georgian mourns the loss of long-time supporter Jack Leitch

John D. Leitch, O.C., known to everyone as Jack, a shipping industry leader, long-time friend and significant supporter of Georgian, passed away on May 12. He was 99.
Jack’s remarkable life story is shared and honoured in The Globe and Mail.

Jack was a generous and passionate supporter of education and Georgian’s Centre for Marine Training and Research, located at the Owen Sound Campus. His accomplishments in the marine industry are legendary and have been celebrated by many.
In 2013, Georgian’s largest and most sophisticated marine navigation simulator, part of the Centre for Marine Training and Research, was named The Jack Leitch Bridge.

Jack’s legacy is deeply rooted at Georgian and the impact of his support will inspire and educate future generations of students to come.

Georgian extends heartfelt condolences to Jack’s wife Catherine, his children and all the family.
