Georgian hosting the 2023 Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition

The most creative and innovative college marketing students across the province come together annually to compete in the prestigious Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition (OCMC). Georgian is honoured to host the 2023 edition on November 16 and 17 at the Blue Mountain Conference Centre in Collingwood, Ontario, just minutes away from the South Georgian Bay Campus.

This multi-day experiential event is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their marketing expertise to real clients. Since 1980, the OCMC has been driven as student-centred experience, giving the brightest talent a chance to network with industry experts and take the next step toward finding a job.

250 students will compete in various activities including case studies, mock job interviews, sales presentations and much more. They’ll also participate in QuizBowl, a high energy game that tests their marketing knowledge in front of a live audience.

Alison Durtnall, Business and Management Professor at Georgian College, says that the OCMC positions students for success as they start their careers after graduating.

We’re very excited to host the OCMC this year; our last time hosting was in 2014 and the marketing landscape has changed a lot! This is an incredible experience for students, and many say this event is a highlight of their postsecondary education journey.
