Georgian College hosts 13th annual High School Hospitality Competition

Busy hands are shown working in a culinary lab.Georgian College’s Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation department hosts its 13th annual High School Hospitality Competition on Wednesday, April 27 at the Barrie Campus.

A total of 38 teams of secondary school students compete in cooking, baking and restaurant service categories.

Cooking teams, working in pairs, are required to prepare a three-course meal.

Baking teams prepare a variety of recipes.

Restaurant service students complete such tasks as professionally setting a table, preparing mocktails and lunch service.

Students from 19 secondary schools across Central Ontario are competing for prizes and scholarships to attend Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation programs at Georgian.
