Georgian celebrates five fabulous foodies

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is Nov. 19. Here are five talented female business owners who’ve received support from Georgian’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre and are thriving in the community:

Amy De Wolfe

Owner and head foodie at Renegade Health Bar (51 Collier St., Barrie). Believes healthy food can be crave-worthy. Provides take home and on-the-go selections. Uses fresh and local ingredients. Known for mouthwatering vegan tapas (tacos, pizza, spring rolls, sushi, etc.), creamy roasted garlic and cauliflower soup. Makes delicious Keto entrées, desserts and baked goods. Loves to give back.

Christy Deere

Owner of Collingwood Kombucha Company (65 Simcoe St.) – a craft microbrewery of fermented tea products that are good for you and taste great. Has been drinking strange concoctions and putting drops of herbal medicines under her tongue since a child. Inspired by her grandmother who was cured of Lupus using Chinese and herbal medicine. Launching a vegan line soon: Dark Chocolate, Orange & Dark Chocolate and as a celebration to Canada, Maple & Dark Chocolate. Proud Georgian culinary grad.

Co-owner of family-run Georgian Chocolate Co.! Mom. Committed to providing chocolate products that use healthy ingredients, support ethical sourcing, and minimize environmental impacts. Every chocolate bar is handcrafted. All are packaged in original artwork by local artists. Currently renovating a space just north of Orillia to call home.

Shelby Taylor

Founder of Chickapea, a fast-growing brand of high-protein pasta made from organic chickpeas and lentils. Based out of Collingwood. Sold across North America – and soon to be Europe. Received prestigious B Corporation certification, solidifying Shelby’s mission to create good for the world through nutritious, organic meal options and impactful social contributions. Donates three cents from the sale of every product to feeding nutritious lunches to school-aged children in need.
