Build an in-demand career with free multi-trade pre-apprenticeship

Want to gain skills for entry into the trades, but don’t know where to start? You can take the first step toward building an in-demand career with Georgian College’s 33-week multi-trade Industrial Mechanic, Welder, Industrial Electrician and Plumber pre-apprenticeship program. It starts April 13, 2020 at the Midland Campus.

Associate Dean Mac Greaves says the program is ideal for those seeking to enter the skilled trades, but who need additional training and support.

“The multi-trade pre-apprenticeship program will help those interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades and help provide a pathway into apprenticeship programs,” notes Mac.

In addition to hands-on learning, students receive academic upgrading and soft skills such as communication, teamwork and personal management. This will help connect them to a robust job market and meet entrance requirements for the construction trades. Job search skills, job and trade readiness planning and a paid 12-week work placement are also included.
