9 places to get the flu shot around the Barrie Campus
Oct. 24, 2018
Protect yourself and others against the contagious (and dangerous!) influenza virus by getting the flu shot. It’s free and available to everyone. All you need is your Ontario health card.
Here are nine places to get the flu shot at or near the Barrie Campus.
- The Barrie Campus Flu Shot Clinic – Georgian nursing students and faculty are hosting a flu shot clinic on Wednesday, Nov. 7 and Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in room M248. It doesn’t get more convenient than that! All staff, faculty and students are welcome.
- Procare Pharmacy (Guardian) – The pharmacy right across the road from the college, on Bell Farm Road, offers the flu shot.
- Shoppers Drug Mart – Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations provide the shot. The Shoppers in the new plaza at Duckworth and Cundles is closest to campus.
- Rexall PharmaPlus – The shot is available at most Rexall pharmacies. The closest one to Barrie Campus is in the plaza at Duckworth and Grove. There’s another location at Cundles and St. Vincent.
- PureHealth Pharmacy – The pharmacy at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (the hospital next door to Georgian) offers flu shots as of early November.
- Pharmasave – Most Pharmasaves also offer the flu shot. The closest location is right next to the hospital, at 1 Quarry Ridge Road, on the ground floor.
- Remedy’s RX – The health building at Little Lake (by Duckworth and highway 400) has a pharmacy on the ground floor.
- Express Aid Pharmacy – Check out the pharmacy at Grove and Johnson if you prefer to support locally-owned businesses.
- Your doctor’s office – OK, so this one may not be near the Barrie Campus. But if you’re seeing your doctor this fall, you may as well ask to get the flu shot while you’re there!

If you’re an international student without an Ontario health card, bring your GuardMe health insurance number to the Barrie Campus clinic Nov. 7 or 13 OR attend the special flu shot clinic for international students on Nov. 12. Sign up in advance at the front desk of the Segal International Centre.
