Georgian mourns the death of Varsil Patel, a Computer Studies student

The Georgian College community is saddened to confirm Varsil Patel, a student in our Computer Programming program, was the victim of a tragic vehicle accident the night July 21 in south Barrie.
Our college community offers our deepest condolences to Varsil’s family and his friends, classmates and instructors.

In memory of Varsil, the Georgian flag has been lowered to half-mast at the Barrie Campus.
Barrie Police continue to investigate this accident and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have dash camera video and were travelling on Big Bay Point Road/Leggott Avenue on Friday evening prior to 10:15 p.m. to please contact the investigating officer.
