Students explore, plan, implement and demonstrate evidence-informed therapeutic activities and programs. Emphasis is placed on relational practice and fostering a therapeutic milieu. By teaching life skills and enhancing pro-social behaviour, students learn to foster resilience in children and youth who face a variety of challenges in various settings and contexts. Students examine school, residential, and community based programming and develop activities to engage youth in preparation for placement in these settings.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
