Course description

Students develop a needs based plan, and implement and evaluate evidence-informed therapeutic activities, including eco-relational practice. Emphasis is placed on relational practice, developmental needs, culture and diversity and fostering a therapeutic milieu. By teaching life skills and enhancing pro-social behaviour, students learn to foster resilience in children and youth who face a variety of challenges in various settings and contexts. Students examine school, residential, and community based programming to develop interventions that engage and promote children, youth and family development.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
