Course description

Research skills are integral to the decision-making process in a legal environment. In this course, students examine the legal research skills required to efficiently and effectively locate and evaluate primary and secondary sources. Various research media, including texts and databases are utilized to integrate research and decision-making skills, ensuring students have practical experience with the complete research process. Students conduct basic legal research, record and organize their results and learn proper methods of citation.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
