Law Clerk Field Training

Course description

Students find and complete an 84-hour field placement in a legal environment. Students apply the knowledge and skills gained in the classroom to practical settings such as law firms, corporations and courts. Students work independently, and as part of a team, to assist legal professionals with client matters, in a professional and ethical manner. Through employer and self-evaluation, students identify areas for improvement and possible future career paths. All placements must be approved by the Field Placement Coordinator.

and Post Secondary level LAWS 2044 Real Estate Law 1 Minimum Grade of 50
and Post Secondary level LAWS 2040 Corp and Commercial Law 1 Minimum Grade of 50
and Post Secondary level LAWS 2032 Estates Law Minimum Grade of 50
and Post Secondary level LAWS 2041 Corp and Commercial Law 2 Minimum Grade of 50
and Post Secondary level LAWS 2045 Real Estate Law 2 Minimum Grade of 50

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
