Students are introduced to the process of planning, creating and managing a relational database using Structured Query Language (SQL) statements. Students apply best practices such as the use of entity relationship diagrams (ERD). Normalization and atomicity, consistency, isolation, durability (ACID) are emphasized. Students also develop skills in data manipulation and extraction.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
