Course description

This is a general introductory science course about plants and their importance to people. Students explore the essential role of plants in everyday life as sources of meals, materials and medicines, and discuss the basic structure of plants, their historical significance and economic contributions to society. Students learn the connection between people and plants, while enhancing their appreciation of domesticated and wild plants.



Course Hours


Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
