Course description

Building on content from Interpersonal Communication, students apply their knowledge of verbal and non-verbal communication to develop effective interviewing skills necessary to retrieve information from victims, witnesses and accused persons. From a theoretical perspective the course explores the factors that affect the reliability of victims of crime, witnesses and accused persons. It also examines the current legal and ethical requirements imposed by both legislation and jurisprudence in Canada.
