Death and Dying (ODE)
The work of the crisis interventionist frequently involves dealing with death and dying notifications. Students will study the Hendrick's model of death notification, acute grief reactions, notifying children and the elderly of a sudden death (homicide, suicide, accidental), sudden infant death and parental grief and the grieving person's reactions. Students will explore options to facilitate mourning, grief, risk factors and multi-cultural issues.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.OntarioLearn information
