GCSA elections

If you want to represent Georgian College students, help decide what events and activities should run, and have a say in how student fees are spent, then consider running for a position on the Georgian College Students’ Association (GCSA).

Being part of the GCSA executive allows you to:

  • Get to know other student leaders.
  • Spruce up your resumé for graduation.
  • Put some extra money in your pocket.

GCSA executive elections run every year in January and February. Position term is from May 1 to April 30, 2019. All positions are paid an honorarium.

2018 GCSA Executive Elections

GCSA Executive Elections run every year in January and February. Position term is from May 1 to April 30, 2019. All positions are paid an honorarium.

  • Nominations: Jan. 22 to 31
  • Interviews: Feb. 1 and 2
  • Campaign: Feb. 5 to 16
  • Election: Feb. 20 to 22
  • Results: Feb. 22 at 5 p.m.

Position descriptions

To apply for a position download the Nomination Package and:

  • Hand in this application along with your unofficial transcript to the GCSA Office (Room A162) by Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. to Sheona Morrison.
  • You will be emailed an interview time within one week. Next steps will be conveyed at that meeting.

2018 GCSA Student Ambassador

This year, the GCSA Student Ambassador position will not go through the election process. Students will apply and then be interviewed for the position. The term is from May 1 to April 30, 2019. This position is paid an honorarium.

  • Applications submitted: March 1 to 9
  • Interviews: March 12 to 16
  • Results: March 21 at 5 p.m.

2018 Board of Governors Election

GCSA BOG elections run every year in February and March. Position term is from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2019. This position is paid an honorarium.

  • Nominations: Feb. 23 to March 9
  • Campaign: March 19 to 23
  • Election: March 27 to 29
  • Results: March 29
  • Election: March 27 to 29
  • Results: March 29 at 5 p.m.

GCSA is continually looking for new ways to improve the student experience and elections are another way we think we can do that! Last year, we refined and improved the entire election process – from application and campaigning to voting. If you have any questions, please contact katherine.goss@georgiancollege.ca.
