Course description

Students consolidate personal support worker skills, knowledge, and concepts with a supervised clinical placement in long-term care. As an active member of the interprofessional health care team, students implement problem-solving, critical thinking and time management skills to provide safe, effective, person-centred care. Through the use of basic assessment and the development of therapeutic relationships, students support clients’ autonomy and privacy, while providing essential care for daily living.
