Observation and Documentation

ECED 1029

Course description

Observations of children in early years settings provide early childhood educators with information to assist them in establishing responsive, positive learning relationships with others, the materials they use, and their environments. Students explore methods to identify, select, collect, and document their observations, and develop awareness of how objectivity and subjectivity factor into this process. Students reflect on their observations to better support children's unique developmental needs and interests.
