Course description

In this course, students are introduced to the essentials of law governing employment relationships. Focusing on Canadian federal and provincial contexts, students develop an understanding of employment-related legislation, common law, statute law, and regulatory requirements. Students learn the importance of statutory rights in the employment relationship and the need to adhere to legal requirements when carrying out Human Resources responsibilities.
