Course description

Students are introduced to museum standards and practices relative to handling, shipping, displaying, and storing collections, and explore the common causes of damage and deterioration of museum and gallery objects. Students learn how to protect collections through preventative techniques and perform tasks related to ongoing collection maintenance, including condition reporting. Students also review the network of conservation authorities and resources involved in this work
