Course description

In this course, students are introduced to key aspects of museum management. Focusing on the full scope of operational elements, topics range from boards and governance to strategic planning and HR management and labour relations (staff, contract workers, and volunteers) to audience development. The responsibilities associated with building management and condition assessments are also examined. This course serves as an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of museum personnel and establishes a foundation for discussing career paths within the sector
