Course description

Students are introduced to the important role of being a pedagogical leader and mentor. Students gain an understanding of the role of the College of Early Childhood Educators and the responsibilities that are associated with the practice of early childhood education, including child protection. Professional communication and techniques for documenting and keeping reports are also explored. Students review current legislation and standards of practices that govern the Early Childhood Education sector. The connections between government policies, funding and relevant legislation, and how they relate to various early learning environments are discussed

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
