Enhanced Clinical Skills

ADCT 1022

Course description

The field of addictions counselling continues to expand as more of the tools used to support clients become empirically validated. Students enhance their clinical tool kit by exploring and practising various treatment options including cognitive and behavioural therapies (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) strategies. Through a trauma informed lens and grounded in motivational counselling, students develop the necessary skills to advocate for client success while simultaneously acknowledging their own professional limits and personal belief systems
