Course description
In this foundational course, students develop core skills for effective communication across interpersonal, academic, and professional settings. Through continuous development and application of practical skills, students learn to compose audience-centred messages in written, spoken, and visual formats. They analyze communication to identify arguments, perspectives, biases, and task requirements. Emphasis is placed on creating original content using credible sources, applying ethical research practices, and integrating proper documentation and citation. Students also develop tech literacy skills by using digital communication tools responsibly and effectively to support communication tasks. Students work both independently and collaboratively to achieve the course learning outcomes
