Course description

The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) is the leading international independent testing resource for humane, science-based dog training professionals. Canine Foundations Training Academy provides students with the knowledge and practical experience required to qualify for, and successfully complete the exam process, to achieve the CPDT-KA (Knowledge Assessed) Certification. The course schedule is developed to cater to professionals, providing them with the ability to achieve their educational goals while maintaining their current full-time job.

The Canine Foundations Training Academy is more than a dog-training course, it’s a comprehensive, science-driven program that prepares aspiring and developing trainers to step confidently into the profession of dog training and behaviour consulting. Rooted in evidence-based practice and humane methodology, the Academy integrates academic rigour with hands-on practical application, equipping students with both the knowledge and professional skills required to thrive in today’s evolving industry.

At its core, the Academy is built on three pillars: scientific understanding, applied practice, and structured mentorship. Together, these elements create a learning experience that balances academic depth with the realities of professional training. Graduates emerge not only with strong technical skills in canine behaviour and learning, but also with the ability to counsel clients, manage cases, and uphold professional ethical standards.
