Routine Practices and Infection Control (IPAC Canada)

Developed over a one-year period by a Pan-Canadian Committee of Infection Control Professionals (ICPs), this curriculum is designed to assist health-care facilities and staff by offering a step-by-step overview on best practices for reducing infections through routine practices. It includes case studies, simulations, narration, video and questions. Georgian College provides reporting and administration for registered enrollees and organizations, and provides a certificate of completion for those who achieve the minimum threshold levels for completing the curriculum.
This is a must for front-line workers of organizations that wish to implement Infection Control standardized routine practices across their organizations in a timely, cost-effective manner that is easy to use and readily accessible. This professional curriculum is accredited by SOFEDUC for a Continuing Education Credit (CEU) as well.

Bloodborne Pathogens for Workers Safety

Training for Canada compliance (OHS, CSA). I-CAB-recognized. This course satisfies the requirements for classroom training. Quiz questions along the way prepare you for the final written exam. Upon completion, you will be able to print your certificate and a wallet card, as well as a customizable form that can be used by employers as needed to observe the worker’s application of principles discussed during training. After completion of this course, you should be able to understand how people are exposed to bloodborne pathogens, what HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B and C are, as well as the worker/employer responsibilities and safe work procedures for preventing bloodborne pathogens. By taking this online training course, employees will achieve OHS compliance.

Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma in the Workplace

Mental Health and Diabetes in Youth

Developed by the Banting Legacy Foundation as a five-module, self-paced online program for health-care professionals, school teachers, staff and volunteers of community outreach organizations seeking enhanced understanding of the challenges faced by youth living with diabetes and mental health issues. In this course, you will explore the global context for the prevalence of diabetes and mental disorders in youth, as well as major global, national and regional initiatives emerging to improve disease prevention and care for youth with diabetes, mental disorders or both. You will also gain a better understanding of selected aspects (e.g., surveillance, processes, evidence, practices, research gaps) relating to youth living with diabetes, mental disorders or both.
