Course description

Sports Tourism refers to vacation or business travel that includes spectating or participating in competitive or non-competitive sports or recreation and leisure activities. Topics include logistics of event-based sports tourism, politics in sport, sport marketing, sport facility operation, economic impact, and industry trends. Sport has become a major demand generator for many countries around the world and consequently the growth and status of this phenomenon is a major aspect of this course. The process of creating bid proposals for sport events is also discussed.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
