Professional Practice Advanced
Students review standard industry guidelines, procedures, and professional practice issues applicable to the business of interior decorating. The preparation of proposals, service agreements and contracts, project coordination and administration, documentation responsibilities, and financial record keeping are examined within the context of ethical, legal, and accountability obligations. Established reimbursement methods such as fees for service and fees for product are explored. Lectures, case studies, and guest speakers provide students with professionally recognized business models on which to build a professional practice, both as an employee and as an entrepreneur.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
