Course description

In this course, students learn the principles and processes of design business practices including client communication and relationship management, teamwork, time management, and preparation of design briefs, estimates, and invoices. Students also learn how to develop a career plan, search for jobs, create customized resumes, organize and present a portfolio, and conduct informational interviews specific to the graphic design industry. Issues such as ethical and sustainable design practices, freelancing versus employment, design associations, and copyright are examined.
