Principles in Traffic Law

POLC 2012

In this course, students develop the knowledge and skills required to investigate traffic violations and collisions based on the Highway Traffic Act and other federal and provincial laws relating to traffic offences. Students begin with an introduction to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario and then move into the federal offences such as impaired driving and criminal negligence in the operation of a motor vehicle. Through scenario training, students integrate police authorities and interpersonal strategies and procedures, when dealing with motor vehicle stops. Students also have the opportunity to draw comparisons for those offences which could have application in both levels of legislation.
