General and job-specific fitness activities are studied and practiced, enabling students to perform the physical requirements of a Paramedic. Emphasis is placed on a strength component focusing on safe lifting practices. Students receive initial instruction on how to assess, monitor and improve their fitness level through designing and implementing a personal training program which includes both a fitness program and a nutritional awareness analysis. As part of an introduction to a lifelong healthy lifestyle, students participate in scheduled group fitness training sessions.



Course Hours


Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
