Medico Legal Aspects

Students learn to apply relevant legislation and regulations enacted by the Provincial and Federal Governments. Focus is on the accountability and responsibility of their behaviours by concentrating upon the legalities and ethical principles governing their professional duties. Students will understand their roles as advocates of patient rights to dignity, privacy, confidentiality and consent / non-consent to treatment.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
