PSYC 1001

This course is a survey of various specialty areas within contemporary psychology. Students consider current psychological theories and research related to content areas such as Cognition, Intelligence, Motivation, Emotion, Personality, Social Behaviour, Psychological Disorders, Therapies and Health Psychology. Further, students integrate concepts of empiricism and scientific inquiry across these content areas. This course in combination with Introduction to Psychology 1 provides students with the requisite knowledge to study at senior levels.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
