This course introduces students to the principles that are essential to an understanding of contemporary macroeconomics issues. Emphasis is placed on the use of economic models to analyze economic developments accurately and objectively. Students examine unemployment, inflation, and economic growth; as well, they evaluate government's use of fiscal and monetary policy to deal with these problems. NOTE: It is recommended that students take ECON 1003 Introduction to Microeconomics or ECON 1000 Introduction to Microeconomics prior to taking this course.
